| The call went out at about 10:00p.m. for men to come help. Derek didn't get in until l 3 or 4 am |

| There were some that suffered huge losses. Thankfully we are further south from the area hit hardest, but these people are in our stake and they were hit hard. |

        The stake President cancelled the 2nd and 3rd hour of church so people could go help the clean up effort. Such good people out here. It has been amazing to see how people jump in to help and do it with a smile. *these are not my photos, they are from the city and a couple from friends on facebook. | It is such a relief when family pictures are done for another year!! I think they turned out great! Despite a less than ideal day, it all came together and worked out great! And a big thanks to my sister and her husband who helped us out!! They were being all kinds of crazy to get smiles out of the kids!  |

| After all the needle work (NO fun) and the paperwork and such, we were set to go with the pit and around noon. I was at a 3 and 75% effaced. |

| My Mom came with, as she has with all of my births! After a few hours on pit...with no medication or epidural, I was hoping for some great progress. I was doing well with the contractions and was hoping for some good news. They checked me and I had barely changed at all!! only at a 4! Seriously! Pit was on as high as it would go!! 4 hours for 1 cm!! GRR! |

| So th midwife broke my water at about 4:00 and then she sat in there and chatted with us for about and hour. By the time she left I was feeling some pretty strong contractions and was really having to concentrate to not freak out. No I am not one to have a "pain free" birth, but I am able to manage the pain by relaxation and things that I learned from hypnobirthing. By about 5:15 my Mom asked me if I thought I was in transition and I said I think so. She ran out into the hall and got the midwife and told her she needed to come and she said "ok, I'll be there in a second and my Mom said "Um, she is in transition and you probably better come now!" While she was gone I was feeling contraction after contration with no break and pit still on full, I was starting to struggle and thought to myself, this had better be over soon or I may loose it! So the midwife came in and checked me and sure enough, ready to push! |

| One hour to go from a 4 1/2 to a 10!! Crazy intence hour to say the least! But I will take it as opposed to those that have to endure hours and days of labor! For sure!!!! |

| Luckily we didnt have to evacuate. They evacuated the neighborhood just to the north of us, but we didnt have a manditory evacuation, we were just on notice. We were glad to be home and we were so greatful to have Karen, Dereks mom here holding down the fort and watching the girls for us! So glad to have him here!! Love him to pieces!!! |
