37 and a half!

Technically full term now......

Feeling like I am ready to POP!!

I wen to the doctor, not much progress than I was last week. Just 1 1/2 and 40% effaced.
I am not holding my breath that I will go into labor early (I have only ever gone 1 day early), but it would be a nice suprise ;) So I am looking at 3 weeks...18 days, or so.... and it feels like eternity!!  I am trying not to think about it day by day, but it really is what is on  my mind.
I had a list of things that had to be done before he comes, like birthdays, a baptism, a wedding and everything that goes along with it.  and they are pretty much done.
So then I wait.  I am excited to finally meet this  little guy!!
Until then I will do my best to keep up with laundry, dishes, cooking, cleaning......
*Sigh*

One more project done!!

My latest Project is the car seat Canopy for MyKay, and if you know me, you know how hard it has been for my husband and I to even decide on a fabric.  He has definite opinions when it comes to this boy...but that is another post entirely
There were a couple of different things I wanted it to have,
First I wanted a little opening, being summer and all, I didn't want it to get too hot in there.  I got the inspiration here.
http://www.katiesnestingspot.com/2011/08/baby-gear-must-have-car-seat-canopy.html
I debated between doing a window or nothing at all, but decided on the open flap type.  I couldn't find a tutorial on it, so I came up with the design myself.  Thinking about it in the night one night.  It was nerve wracking making that cut right up thte middle of my newly made canopy, but it turned out well, so I am glad I did it!

I also wanted it to have elastic around the back because where we live, it is windy and a regular blanket like canopy would just blow all over the place. I wanted it to stay in place.
I got the tutorial here
This is what my oldest was doing while I sewed this project......pretty creative!!
All in all, a success I think!  I just have to put snaps on the opining and velcro on the handle straps.  But the major part is done!  YEA!!  one more thing done before baby comes in 23 days!!

Dogs

We went on a walk this morning.....
(trying to progress this baby along as much as I can before the big event.)
But as we began to walk, we keppt seeing dogs NOT tied up. If any one you know my girls, they DO NOT like dogs. Big or little, doesn't matter.  They freak out!  So as I kept seeing these dogs, I kept getting more and more annoyed.  I am not anti-dog person, I believe people should be able to have what ever animal they want to. But I do belive that in you take on a pet, be prepared to take care of it.
I counted at least 4 dogs not tied up while on a walk.  No big deal, but I have been confronted by mean dogs in our neighborhood while walking before. Like being approached by a big barking dog is on anyones list of favorite things....right!!  And you never know weather the dog is harmless or mean.  I guess it kind of took some of the fun out of taking a walk when you are having to be concerned with other peoples dogs running free around the neighborhood.
Ok I will stop venting now.

Progress

I had an appointment yesterday, 36 weeks. They did the group b strep test....lovely....and then they checked me.  To my suprise I was dialated to a 1 and 40% effaced.  I wasn't really expecting anything at all, so that was nice to hear.  Any progress is good progress.  As for the induction...I haven't set the date yet.  Still trying to decide how long to wait for this little guy to come on his own.

Decisions

I have been going back and forth lately on weather or not I want to set an induction date.

I know I don't want to be induced early because I don't want labor to be longer than it needs to be., because I want to go natural, like I did last time.  I am just not sure weather or not I want to be overdue by a week, like I did with my last one and then be induced anyway.  With my 4 children, I have gone into labor on my own once.  With my first baby.  Now if I go into labot on my own with this one, problem solved, right??  :) It is in the case that I go over due that I am debating about.

The convience of knowing I will for sure have him by a paticular day is nice. Having a babysitter schedueled for and induction...deffinitly a plus! But going into labor on my own makes labor easier and more effective. Maybe it is because I don't know if or when I would actually go into labor. I go back and forth.  I guess I am just trying to work out the pros and cons of each. I know that EVENTUALLY  I would go into labor. "when my body is ready" But I don't really want to have to push out a 9 pound baby if he is like 2 weeks over due!!

Also this little boy is bigger than my girls have been and puts a lot more pressure on my body, which could send me into labor.  Maybe.  I guess it is the unknown that makes me nervous.  Plus the fact that My husband has a youth conference the 2 days before my due date that could possibly be taking him an hour and a half away from me. That makes me nervous.  My last labor wasn't that long and a lot can happen in that amount of time. Then he has a young mens camp out just a week and a half or so after my due date. Is it likely that I will go ito labor in that week?  Again, the unknown.

I don't know if there is a perfect answer. I suppose I am just venting.  Getting my thoughs out and hoping that maybe they will make more sense on paper.....or on the screen.

Anyway, that's all I guess.......

have you ever gone into labor after being induced?  I would love to hear happy stories of your experiences.  Please no horror stories, I worry about everything already, I don't want to add more things to that list. :-/  Thanks for resding my rant.  In a couple months this will be totally obsolete, but for now its on my mind.

Hope you all have a great day!!
