December....2017 is almost over!

December is a big month around here! My birthday and Christmas which means Christmas break, which means projects! Ha ha
We put the tree up with great excitement this year because it is a new tree that we bought after Christmas last year! New tree, new ornaments and new tree decorations and stocking! It is so pretty! I love it!
On our way to voice lessons, an antelope was just standing in the middle of the road.....

There were several of them hanging out and they did not seem to care that they were almost going to be hit by a car. No wonder they get hit so often. They had no sense of danger of cars.

Kenna had her first recital. She was quite nervous to sing in front of all those people, but she did GREAT! She sang "How Does She Know" from Enchanted.
The Simons gave us a Gingerbread house that the kids enjoyed decorating.
It got pretty messy
We are not what you would call "professional Gingerbread decorators"
We had the annual family Christmas Party at Mom and Dad's house
We had fun eating and giving gifts and being together
MyKay loves hanging out with his cousins
Daddy and Kenn, Chillin on the chair at the party
Lydia loved Saileen's sequins book from grandma...the colors and sparkles put her in a trance
Kenna and Jo got barbie things....their favorite!
I got books....my favorite!
Derek saved the day by fixing 2 of the guns that were having issues....the boys were so happy!

BK playing with his sequin pillow that he got from grandma after we got home!

We took a little trip to the E.R. with Derek. He played Racquetball and thought he pulled a muscle and it got so intense he thought he had a kidney stone.
We ended up going to Urgent care and they gave him a couple things to take and gave him a pain relief shot. It didn't touch it. By evening, he was in excruciating pain. So we went to the E.R. They gave him a steroid, pain relief shot, and a muscle relaxer. It knocked him out. I could barley get him to the car. The next day, it was a ton better. By the next day, it was like it never even happened. I am glad it was nothing serious. It is still a mystery as to what it was exactly.
Wiped out from early church and an eventful weekend at the E.R.
It's a treasure to see these two being buddies.
This girl started with the braces process.
Before.....
After the palate widener and the space holder at the bottom. It took her a while to learn how to eat and talk with this thing in. Her braces are set to go on Jan 22nd.
Derek made these for a couple families for Christmas. The turned out really good.
For my birthday, I asked for the kids beds to be made. Their rooms have been in a bit of disarray because of the pending change up of the rooms. So he obliged and worked on the the beds on m birthday. I bought myself some REFIT swag while I was in Texas so those were my birthday gifts.
Bk loves to help Dad when he is in the garage.
We start with and IKEA shelf......

We built a framing around the shelf.

There is a little cubby area behind the shelf

Once we did the first one, we did mass production for the others

moving beds in means moving all the stuff out.......
Which makes a huge mess!
You never realize how much stuff is in a room until you take it all out!
But at least their room is looking good!
All empty and ready for the beds!
The girls couldn't wait for the  beds to be finished to sleep on them

Gymnastics is still one of the favorite pass times around here

At the Christmas program for Michelle and Alex MyKay kept himself busy by playing with these paper throwing stars.
That conveniently stored in his hat.
Now he can be a hands free ninja!
We went over to their house afterward....

We played a game the kids took crazy selfies and then we headed home.

Silver, Kaliah's best friend got baptized!
Derek and Saileen drove to Maddox's to eat with Karen and Ron.
Christmas is out and READY!!  MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
One more year! Check!!
We did not think we would have a white Christmas this year. The forecast basically said there was no way, but Christmas eve night....look what we saw! A Christmas miracle!
We got a lot of things for Christmas, this was one of the Favorites! Mermaid swim tails!
Saileen was my elf this year which meant she knew most of what she was getting, which was mostly clothes....but I surprised here with these!
They all got one! They love them! They also got Journals and LOL surprises for the the middle girls and dresses and barbie stuff of course!
The walked around...well hopped around in these for days afterward!
MyKay got a car he got to build from Kenna along with a lot of super heroes and play dough and magformers and so many fun things! Christmas was AWESOME!
I got earphones and hats and active wear and a new hoodie. I also got ENSO rings and the girls got some too. I also got earrings and a new watch band!
We also got a new family game! SCRABBLE!!!
Christmas day yielded even more snow! Not too much, but it was a white Christmas!
The day after Christmas, the Taylors came over to play....the sat by the window watching for them to show up!
Mykay stationed himself by the front door waiting and watching
They finally arrived and now we have 8 mermaid and 1 shark!
They loved playing together with all their new stuff!

Derek didn't take any pictures with his stuff, but he got some dress shoes and some dress shirts and some tools. He loves his new wood tools...he has been using them on projects already!

My cousin from Hawaii came into town for a wedding, so we went over and hung out with them for a while. Mykay made a new friend. He is 3 but bigger than MyKay, but they both love spider man and that's all they needed!
The crazy Kiddos!
Kenna made a friend too!
Bea had a friend her age too!
Super Heroes is all a boy  needs!

And sometimes you just wanna chill and just be by each other
All of us together....Shara and her family and me and mine and my Mom
Amid the bed project, Derek decided to make himself a table for his new office
It is what they call a "live edge" table which makes it look like it is a piece of a natural tree
He cut a center area out
Where he put some river rocks
Then some epoxy to make it see though in that area
To look like a river bed
And then back to the bed....we put bead board backing on the back and one side
And doors on the end and the front
Time for calking

I had to calk all around the doors and edges

And the top of all the beadboard
Now time to paint.....all the while, the girls are sleeping the the family room!
Saileen helped me paint and it helped a ton...cut my job in half! We were done in a few hours as opposed to all day!
Derek is moving on to the legs of the table
The next day, the girls got to move back in!
They turned out really well!
Each kid got some new blankets to make it a new fresh look!
Their Decorations from Grandma and Grandpa all up on the wall to make it their own space!
PLUS.....the added bonus of their own personal hide out under their beds! With a light too!
They are basically living the high life!! ha ha
Needless to say, they are very happy!
As am I!
Derek's desk in near being done. This is the view from the bottom
This kids like the view from the bottom
Trapped under ice! ha ha
Oh no, save me!
A job well done! Because the girls are in a room together, Derek gets an office! YAY
New years shenanigans! This kid spends most of her time on her head these days!
So we challenged her to lift her arms...so she did!
Then Derek had to get in on the action!
It's harder than it looks!
And BOOM! Nailed it!
Jo jumping in to give it a shot!
Saileen nailing it!
Then mom blows them all away with her mad skill! ha ha!
Mykay promised if mom did it, he would give it a try! Go buddy!
Waiting around for Midnight!
Jo got upset that she couldn't do a head stand as well as she liked...so we was a little sad when the new year rolled around.
This boy was just plain ole tired!
So as we wait to take another picture, we bust out the snapchat filter!
Work it ladies!
It's getting crazy up in here!
Even got a smile out of him!
All smiles in the new year!!!
We tried another picture, but Jo was struggling to be happy.
Right as we sent them to bed, She managed to find a happy face
All is well, as we enter the new year.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!
GOODBYE 2017
  HELLO 2018!
