June Bugs and Bees and all the outside things

Started this month out with a bang!!  We went to Logan for a REFIT certification and REBOOT.
Karas got certified to be an instructor!
We had a lot of fun dancing the night away!
Brandy Katelyn and I trying to figure out the photo booth timing! ha ha

Brandy and I hanging out at the experience class!
Most of the Saratoga Crew!
Instructor led song of the night
Everyone from the experience class
Day 2 Training

Lunch break...it was quite delicious!
Yumm!!!
I think everyone was starving, so we made quick work of that food!
Sat by her at the training, she was a new certifying instructor.

I got pulled into an impromptu photo shoot that REFIT HQ used in their media...pretty cool!

Getting to know the new trainees

They did it! They are official!

I made some wood signs for some birthdays....I thought they turned out pretty cute!

Another glow day!!!

I love Glow day and I know there are tons of them documented, but they are my favorite!!!

Also, sweating brings out the curl in my hair! ha ha

Kenna practicing for a skit, She is all in!

Baby Grace smiles....I had a tough job to entertain her! ha ha

Taylors came to play...After they have moved, they don't get to play as much.

These two were walking passed each other and I happened to snap this picture right at the funniest time!

There games are very serious business!

These 2 always having a blast!

Bea go to help in primary.....They sent me this picture!

Saileen braided her hair and it was so crimpy when she took it out!

This boys is just a goof!!
The next project, the deck! Deconstruction before we can start!
Framing it out!
Starting to look like a deck!
Planks going down
It's coming along!!!
Moving the fire pit onto the deck was pretty tricky. We scratched one plank and had to take some planks off to replace the damaged one...live and learn...at least we got it on the second time without scratching the deck.
Staining the support beam glue lamb.
Screwing in the support for the roof.
Then the moment happened that the glue lamb fell off the support and fell on Saileen's head.
There was blood everywhere, we were all freaking out.

We called a neighbor and he helped give her a blessing and it said she would be ok. It said she would make a 100% recovery. The ride there was scary. She couldn't remember what happened. She would just keep repeating the events of the last 30 minutes or so. Who was there, who gave her a blessing, who came to watch the kids....then as time passed, what she could remember would change and I would have to keep telling her what was going on.
.
We loaded her in the van and took her to the ER, when they were putting the neck brace on her and putting her on the backboard, she told them that they were "going too slow and taking forever" not that they were trying not to protect her neck or anything! ha ha. We had a little chuckle from that!
She also told the male nurse that was helping her that she liked his necklace...which was a sea turtle. Even in the midst of trauma, she can appreciate a nice necklace.  Later, she told that same nurse that she liked his hair, which looked like THOR...she was cracking us up.
We took her into the E.R. where they began to run their tests. As they were putting her on the stretcher she said " I always wanted to ride on a stretcher" Again, we laughed....at least she can check that one off her bucket list, I guess.
She had a huge cut on her head. She kept asking if she could pass out so she didn't have to feel the pain. I told her she couldn't and needed to stay awake.
She also told me, on the way to the hospital that she could feel her great-grandma Speakman near her, She probably wasn't the only angle watching out for her that day.

They did CT scans and she had a concussion but no fracture in her skull and no swelling on the brain and NO spinal damage either! Which was a HUGE relief. The beam that fell was over 100 lbs and fell from like 8 feet in the air and fell directly on her head and neck.
When they covered her with warm blankets she commented that they were warm, but not very soft and she wished she had her soft blanket from home.

She was not a fan of having to wash the Cut. They numbed her, but apparently not enough.
She also broke her elbow when the beam hit her head and she fell back, it then landed on her elbow. Which broke it. She was screaming at the x-ray techs when they were trying to turn her arm over. I guess it hurt really bad and she was not having it.
It was a clean enough cut that they were able to staple it instead of stitches. She screamed the whole time and we basically had to hold her down so they could staple it closed.

They finally got it all done.

They splinted her elbow, and put her in a sling.
This was about all the smile she could muster at this point
As they were doing all the tests, she kept asking where the kids were and who was with them. Even in a scary situation, she was concerned with her siblings and their well being. She also asked repeatedly where Kenzi was and when she was going to get to see her. I told her she was home and asked her why she was so worried about where she was, she said "because she is my best friend"

She hung out on the couch when we got home and could not remember what even happened. She was having some memory loss during the even, but after we got home, she couldn't remember anything that happened. She kept asking "what happened?" and then I would explain it all and she would look confused and then ask "what happened?" over and over again. I ended up writing what happened on a piece of paper and she read it over and over again.
The kids were pretty freaked out and wondered if she would not be able to remember things forever. My mom came and sat with us and helped with the kids.
Lots of people came to see how she was and bring her things like treats and coloring books and blankets and lots of thoughtful things. Kenzi came the second day and sat with her watching movies and talking while she lay on the couch. It was definitely touching to see the outpouring of love from her friends and leaders.

The first night home she was in a lot of pain and Derek gave her a second blessing and it said that she had been blessed because of her faithfulness to the commandments and keeping the word of wisdom. It said she would have a miraculous recovery. Also, that due to this experience, she would have sympathy for others that suffer
She was blessed to be able to sleep and relax.
By the next morning she was remembering pretty much everything that happened.
Her recovery has truly been miraculous.

Amid it all Kenna went to a cup cake wars activity at young womens.

The bruise that formed in the days that followed was pretty nasty. We kept oils on her and got some homeopathic main relief that she was able to use to manage pain.
She also chipped her bottom tooth when it all happened.

Happy 6th birthday to this boy!!!
Jo jo got him a soccer ball squishy

He got a blue transformer car...which was so fun for him to figure out how to transform!

He got his sleeve wet, but still wanted to play with his toy..
A boy has got to do, what a boy has got to do!

Grandma bought him some lion guard characters!

He got his Black panther mask....He was so excited!

 Staker family pictures

Ethan wasn't there, so he is not represented...and Saileen had her brace and sling on, so not our best family pix, but they were pretty good!

The day after family pictures we had My Dad's 60th birthday party!

We got together and played outside and ate lunch and had a slack line and yard games and kick ball and baseball and all kinds of things

Then we came inside and had a nice dinner and a talent show

The did stare down games and flew airplanes and all kinds of things. I think he enjoyed it all and we sent time celebrating the 60 years of life he lived. We gave him a book of his life and we even preformed "Dirty Pop" which he loves seeing us do!!  All in all, I think it was a success!
