just one good one please!!

I got these matching jammies a while ago and Saileen and Kaliah happened to fit in them at the same time, so I wanted to get a picture together. It was so funny, cuz Kaliah was tired and wasn't cooperating. When I would get a decent one of her, Saileen would have a funny face.
Here are the results

Kaliah was not happy about the whole situation. So after all that, I gave up. Can't win them all.

Dusting

Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.

'A
house becomes a home when you can write 'I love you' on the furniture.'

I used to spend at least 8 hours every weekend making sure things were just perfect - 'in case someone came over. Finally I realized one day that no-one came over; they were all out living life and having fun!!!!!!!

NOW, when people visit, I don't have to explain the 'condition' of my home.

They are more interested in hearing about the things I've been doing while I was away living life and having fun.....

If you haven't figured this out yet, please heed this advice.

Life is short. Enjoy it!

Dust if you must ...

but wouldn't it be better to paint a picture or write a letter, bake cookies or a cake and lick the spoon or plant a seed, ponder the difference between want and need?

Dust if you must, but there's not much time . . . .
with Chocolate to eat, rivers to swim and mountains to climb, music, to hear and books to read, friends to cherish and life to lead.

Dust if you must,

but the world's out there with the sun in your eyes, the wind in your hair, a flutter of snow, a shower of rain. This day will not come around again.

Dust if you must
,

but bear in mind, old age will come and it's not kind. . .

And when you go - and go you must - you, yourself will make more dust!

It's not what you gather, but what you scatter that tells what kind of life you have lived.

She's all smiles

I finally got a picture of her smiling. She smiles a lot, but doesn't like the camera. As soon as I get the camera out she won't smile.

I tricked her in these. I was standing beside her and I pulled the camera out before she could see it. Muahaha
I was tickling her in this one. I just got lucky that I snapped it in time.

she is smiling at Derek in this one. She thinks he is funny. Maybe it is all the funny sounds he makes at her.
I am just glad I captured this phase of her life. It is way to much fun!!

Sunday Afternoon

Just some fun pictures of the girls playing with blocks. I love how each of them have a completely different affroach to how to build with blocks.

Mylee Likes the round ones
Saileen goes for height. Pretty impressive if you ask me!

She was so proud that she build a tower as big as she was!

Kenna prefers to build it like a castle.
They love blocks!!!

oatmeal cookies show ones true character

I made some yummy oatmeal cookies yesterday. The girls had some after they came out of the oven. I was going to let the girls have another after dinner is they got their play room cleaned up. Needless to say, they didn't get it done before bed time. So this morning the offer still stood that when it was clean, they could still have their cookie.

As the day went on, Kenna and Mylee made an even bigger mess of the room. Saileen still wanted cookies and asked if she cleaned up THEIR mess, if she could have a cookie. I told her that she could. Kenna and mylee informed me that they didn't want a cookie (meaning they didn't want to help clean up the mess they had made)

So Saileen went down and started cleaning up. I went down to help her. Kenna came down when we were almost done and said she changed her mind. She does that to try and get the reward by doing only minimal work. (she tries that a lot. Who says kids aren't smart) I told her it was too late to change her mind. She tried to cry and be dramatic, but I know her tricks!
Anyway, after lunch, I gave her 3 cookies, because she did the work of all 3 girls. Kenna and Mylee both asked to have one and I told them that because they didn't help, they couldn't have a cookie.
But I kept and eye on Saileen because I was kind of expecting what happened next.
Without any prompting, she broke 2 pieces out of each cookie and gave them both a piece out of each cookie she had been given. Then she said "There, now we all have some cookie." It brought a smile to my face to know that she was kind to them, even thought they didn't deserve it. What an example childen are!

New haircut

She took the liberty of cutting a piece of her hair, so i had to finish what she started.

I think it turned out well. I am not a professional by any means, but at least it is realitivly straight. It looks a lot healthier too!

The basement

The basement has been a work in progress for some time now, We have been enjoying the extra space for a couple months, but I am just now getting around to posting it. Mostly for Derek's Mom to see what a great job he has done!!
Derek did the carpet and the wood floor himself!

I like how it looks with the dark wood on the landing.

Derek's office. He calls his man room. He does not like to have anything girly or pink in that room. Who can blame the poor guy. He is kind of out numbered around here.
This is a cool shelf he redecigned from a shelf he bought for really cheap at IKEA. I was originally a horizontal shelf with 2 shelves on each side.

This has been his most recent endevor. He wanted to pain something in the girls room. He had a great idea to use a projector and transperencies. Just like coloring a coloring book...sort of. :p

I wouldn't have been able to do it.

The finished Peter Pan and Wendy

Snow white and Dopey

Kitty Marie from the Aristocats

And Of course, who can forget Tinkerbell!!!

spur of the moment project that saved my sanity!

I don't know if it is the fact that I am nursing or what, but this baby can not stand to be more than 6 inches away frome me! It makes it hard to get anything done. If I am holding her, she is fine, but if I put her down....It is another story.

So I decided to make one of these wraps put of an existing ringed sling that I had.
It worked great! She loved it and it is soo much more comfortable than my ringed sling!
If you have a baby that needs that constant contact, I would suggest whipping up one of these puppies!! It is awesome!

Choices, Choices, I don't know how I am going to decide which one to print!
Here is her collage, so I can have all of them on the wall!!!

I love having them match!! Some day they won't let me, so I will do it while they are willing!!

These are the ones I didn't put in the collage, they were too cute not to post!

What a cute bunch of girls!!! I'm not partial though!
